How the infrastructure works

When Is a Managed Database the Right Choice?

Running a database on your own virtual server leaves setup, version maintenance, backup and access control with the application team. A managed service takes over the infrastructure side of that load, leaving the team on schema and queries. The deciding factors are team size, maintenance windows and database operating experience. If a custom extension, an edge version or operating-system level access is required, your own installation on Compute remains a valid option.

Where Does the Responsibility Boundary Begin?

The managed service operates the infrastructure and the resource lifecycle. Schema design, query performance, the application connection pool, data classification, user privileges and retention policy stay with the customer.

Persistence, Backup and Restore

Data stays on Block Storage. Protect it with scheduled Backup jobs and restore the point you choose from the panel.

Scope, Region and Cost

The database will be located in the İstanbul (tr-ist-01) or Ankara (tr-ank-01) region; you choose the region closest to your application servers. Cost is shaped by the resource profile, storage capacity, runtime, backup and data movement. Supported engines and versions will be announced at general availability.
